Bronx is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Bronx is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

New Roots was awesome. So much food being grown in a small space in a urban site. People there were very friendly.

Best farm in the Bronx I've seen so far. The caretakers and volunteers are the most caring and welcoming people who care very much for their community. I plan in visiting to help out once the weather is better.

Community garden with Food Scrap Drop Off. I was here volunteering on their 10 year anniversary. Vibrant lush garden with vegetables and humming insects.
